The ORTHODOX ACADEMY OF CRETE (OAC) maintains a modern Conference Center situated in an exceptionally beautiful location only a few meters from the sea and next to the Gonia Monastery (17th Century). It is situated 22 kilometers from the city of Chania and 39 kilometers from its international airport. Chania is the westernmost prefecture of Crete, with the city of Chania as its capital. The conference center of the OAC is located about 10 minutes by foot outside the small fishing village of Kolymbari.
Conference Facilities
The meeting room is a tiered amphitheatre, fully equipped with an overhead projector, slide projectors, video projectors, a large screen and microphones (see presentation media page for details).
Coffee breaks will be held on the patio just outside of the meeting room.
Services
Phone calls can be made from available public telephones. The reception desk can arrange for photocopies and faxes. Internet and e-mail connection can be provided at the site.
Currency can be exchanged in the village of Kolymbari. Cash machines are available at Kissamos and Chania (further information will be available at the reception desk).
Leisure activities
There are several possibilities for walks and jogging and the village of Kolymbari is a short 10 minute walk away. The beach is accessible just across the road from the center.
The Orthodox Academy also has a library open to conferees during the day.
