A two-year post-doctoral position is available from October 2009 at the Institute of Developmental Biology and Cancer (IBDC-UMR6543, Nice, France; http://www.unice.fr/isdbc/) in F.Besse’s newly established group.
Group interests/Project description
Our group studies the biological roles and the mechanisms of local mRNA regulation during axonal development, using the Drosophila adult CNS as a model system. Using a combination of genetic and biochemical approaches, we are in particular analyzing the in vivo function of RNA binding proteins involved in sub-cellular mRNA targeting and localized translation.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should have a PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, neurobiology or related disciplines. Experience with fly genetics or axon guidance will be considered advantageous.
English is the working language in the lab and in the Institute.
Applications
Interested candidates should send a CV, a description of research interests and accomplishments, and names and contact information of 2 referees to Florence Besse: besse@unice.fr.
