We are seeking outstanding and highly motivated Pre- and Post-doctoral researchers to join the group of Richard Benton at the Center for Integrative Genomics in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Pre-doctoral applicants should have a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (biology, genetics, neuroscience etc.).
Post-doctoral applicants with experience in in vitro electrophysiology are particularly encouraged to apply. Knowledge of Drosophila genetics, molecular biology, cellular imaging, behavioural analysis or computational biology is also an advantage.
Our group studies the genetic, neural and evolutionary basis of olfactory perception using the fruit fly, Drosophila, as a model system (see Nature (2007) 450, 289-293; PLoS Biology (2006) 4(2):e20). Several potential projects are available, integrating molecular, electrophysiological and behavioural experimental approaches. Candidates are also welcome to propose their own project within this subject area. For more information, see http://www.unil.ch/cig/page44404_en.html or contact Richard.Benton@unil.ch
The Center for Integrative Genomics is a new, dynamic institute with international and interactive research groups and world-class facilities in imaging, genomics and proteomics. The working language is English. The Center is located in Lausanne, a beautiful city by Lake Geneva that offers excellent opportunities for cultural and outdoor activities.
Please send a CV, a statement of research interests, and 2 (or more) letters of recommendation to: Richard.Benton@unil.ch
