Postdoc in heart development at the Univ. of Michigan

Postby zackenh99 » Wed Apr 14, 2010 10:23 am

A postdoc position is available at the University of Michigan medical school in the laboratory of Dr. Zhe Han to study Drosophila heart development. The major focus of our lab is to identify and study novel genetic pathways and evolutionarily conserved genes that function in Drosophila heart development. We are also working on specific transcription factors (such as Hand, MRTF) and microRNAs (such as miR1) in heart, muscle and lymph gland development. Our lab is well-funded by the NIH and the American Heart Association, as well as the Michigan Biological Sciences Scholar program.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our group. Successful candidates should have a strong background in Drosophila genetics, developmental biology, cell biology or biochemistry, and familiarity with current genetic and molecular techniques. We offer a fully funded position in an outstanding research environment at the University of Michigan medical school at Ann Arbor. Qualified candidates should send their CV to: zhan@med.umich.edu. For more information about our lab, please visit our website at: http://sitemaker.umich.edu/han.zhe.lab/home_page
