Postdoc in Edinburgh UK: Meiotic spindle & chromosomes

Postby HiroOhkura » Wed Aug 08, 2012 2:23 am

A post-doctoral position is available in the laboratory of Prof Hiro Ohkura at The Wellcome Trust Centre for Cell Biology, The University of Edinburgh, UK. The research aims to uncover the molecular mechanism of meiotic spindle assembly and chromosome organisation in Drosophila oocytes. The laboratory investigates fundamental mechanisms of chromosome segregation and microtubule regulation through a combination of genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry using Drosophila as a model system (http://www.wcb.ed.ac.uk/ohkura). We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented researcher to join our team. Experience in Drosophila is not essential, but the desire to learn new things is necessary. This position is funded by the Wellcome Trust and is available from 1 September 2012.

For formal application procedure, please refer to the Edinburgh University job web site (http://www.jobs.ed.ac.uk) where the position is formally advertised (vacancy reference 3016036). In parallel, you are strongly encouraged to send your CV to Prof Hiro Ohkura (h.ohkura@ed.ac.uk).
