what Hf is?

Postby paoferrero » Wed Jul 07, 2010 10:43 am

I´m new in the world of genetic of flies and I`m working with crosses. I have one strain with Hf/Cyo on the second chromosome.
What HF is specifically?
It`s a marker? What kind of marker? Can I see it like Cyo?

Hf = FBgn0014000 = Helical Factor. See http://flybase.org/reports/FBgn0014000.html for more information.

Unfortunately it isn't a marker.

Best Regards,

My guess is that it is a typo, and your stock has If-1, Irregular facets. it is listed in flybase as an allele of Kr (Kruppel). The eyes will look a bit like Bar.
