    The second chromosome heterochromatin does not appear to influence the random meiotic segregation of compound second autosomes during spermatogenesis. The proximal euchromatin is implicated in male meiotic pairing: male autosomal meiotic pairing sites are specific euchromatic chromosomal regions.
