Affected Genes Inferred by Location (0)
If no genes are listed here, it may be because the affected region is very large. The JBrowse insert above may show an error for the same reason, and other FlyBase tools such as CytoSearch may also fail for large regions. You can contact FlyBase for more help.
In these cases, there will be no "Export to Hitlist" button to the left.
    Phenotypic Data
    In combination with other aberrations

Lethal in combination with Df(2R)P34; Df(2R)edl-L19/Df(2R)P34 animals die as late embryos or early larvae.

NOT in combination with other aberrations

Hybrid females carrying Df(2R)P34 and derived from a cross of D.melanogaster females to D.simulans males do not differ in viability from hybrid females carrying a wild-type D.melanogaster prod allele.

Does not uncover Dsim\jba in D.melanogaster/D.simulans hybrids. Does not uncover Dsim\pm in D.melanogaster/D.simulans hybrids.

    Notes on Origin

The stock contains a second-site deletion uncovering l(2)gl.

    Other Comments

The Df(2R)P34 chromosome acts as a dominant weak suppressor of telomeric silencing (assayed using the effect of the chromosome on the eye colour phenotype of flies carrying "P{wvar}KR3-2", a stable "brown-red" variant of the P{3'WP-2,wvar}2Lt insertion), but this is a false positive result (the suppressor is not within the bounds of the deficient region) because the suppressor maps to the tip of 2L rather than to the site of the deficiency.

    "55E6--F3;56C" was stated as revision.
