Lethal in combination with Df(2R)Px5.
Df(2R)Px1/Df(2R)Px2 lethal Df(2R)Px1/Df(2R)Px5 lethal
The Df(2R)Px1 chromosome does not act as a dominant suppressor of telomeric silencing (assayed using the effect of the chromosome on the eye colour phenotype of flies carrying "P{wvar}KR3-2", a stable "brown-red" variant of the P{3'WP-2,wvar}2Lt insertion).
The tracheal phenotypes previously reported for this deficiency in FBrf0051997 and FBrf0072461, where the primary branches are disrupted and discontinuous, are due to the deletion of a gene other than bs, or more than one gene in the region.
Heterozygosity for this deletion has no effect on the mutant ovarian phenotype of ovoD2.
Wing veins of heterozygote with px-like or Dl-like thickenings, most often near posterior crossvein and free fragments of vein, most often in third posterior cell; L4 vein bent near margin. Wings smaller and narrower than wild type and dusky textured. Closely resembles bs. Expression more extreme in female; enhanced by cold (19o). homozygous lethal as embryo (Li, 1927).
