    In combination with other aberrations

    Df(2R)pgcΔ1/Df(2R)X58-7 animals carrying Gp150+t17.5 to rescue Gp150 function are fertile and embryos derived from these females form normal numbers of pole cells. However, the pole cells degenerate from stage 10 onwards, and few or no pole cells coalesce into the gonads. 80% of these embryos develop into sterile adults.

    The Df(2R)X58-7 chromosome does not act as a dominant suppressor of telomeric silencing (assayed using the effect of the chromosome on the eye colour phenotype of flies carrying "P{wvar}KR3-2", a stable "brown-red" variant of the P{3'WP-2,wvar}2Lt insertion).
