    Failure of head involution in the embryo. Homeotic transformations in the pre-oral head region and the foregut. Posterior tail region and the hindgut are homeotically replaced by anterior tail and post-oral head. Embryos lack oesophagus, proventriculus, hindgut and Malpighian tubules.
