| In combination with other aberrations | |||
| NOT in combination with other aberrations | Expression of dapGMR.PdN transgene in Df(2R)59AB flies has no effect on the eye phenotype. Mitosis 16 is not blocked in CycB deficient embryos, despite the apparent exhaustion of the maternal CycB contribution. Mutant embryos do not hatch though are not morphologically abnormal. Mitotic spindle show subtle abnormalities, and mitosis is slow. A heat shock CycB construct rescues these spindle abnormalities. In embryos double mutant for CycA3 and Df(2R)59AB (deficient for CycB), no mitotic figures are observed at mitosis 15. BrdU incorporations reveal that the block is in the preceding G2. This phenotype can be rescued by heat shock induced expression of either CycA or CycB. The Df(2R)59AB chromosome acts as a dominant weak suppressor of telomeric silencing (assayed using the effect of the chromosome on the eye colour phenotype of flies carrying "P{wvar}KR3-2", a stable "brown-red" variant of the P{3\'WP-2,wvar}2Lt insertion). | ||
