The 3L:24543534..24758036 release 6 coordinates of the left breakpoint are estimates. The left extent corresponds to the right end of mRpS5, which Schulze et al. (FBrf0134775) say is not deleted. The right extent corresponds to the right end of scro, which Schulze et al. (FBrf0134775) say is deleted.
The 3L:25798441..27136525 release 6 coordinates of the right breakpoint are estimates. The left extent corresponds to the left end of CG40178, which Schulze et al. (FBrf0134775) say is deleted. The right extent corresponds to the right end of vtd, which Schulze et al. (FBrf0134775) say is not deleted.
The Df(3L)3-52 chromosome may act as a dominant suppressor of telomeric silencing (assayed using the effect of the chromosome on the eye colour phenotype of flies carrying "P{wvar}KR3-2", a stable "brown-red" variant of the P{3'WP-2,wvar}2Lt insertion), but the eye colour phenotype in the presence of Df(3L)3-52 overlaps the eye colour phenotype in a wild-type background so it cannot be unequivocally demonstrated that the deficiency chromosome uncovers a suppressor of telomeric silencing.
Df(3L)3-52 is a complex rearrangement. The original h52 block is probably present, while the segment spanning from h48 to h50 appears to have been replaced by unknown material (it is possible that some of h50 may still be present). This unknown duplicated material may derive from h52.
