[34B4-34B4];[34C4-34C4];
A set of ~800 largely isogenic deficiency stocks created by FLP-induced recombination between FRT-carrying transgenic insertions; molecularly defined deletion endpoints correspond to initial location of the progenitor insertions. Designed to fill gaps in deletion coverage and breakpoint placement; also used to replace older available deficiencies that have not been molecularly mapped.
34B4;34C4
Breakpoint from FlyBase's release 5 sequence location of progenitor insertion.
This deletion removes a single ribosomal protein-coding gene (though other genes are also removed).
Lethal in combination with Df(2L)BSC340.
Flies heterozygous for the deletion show a Minute bristle phenotype.
Df(2L)BSC159 shows a Minute bristle phenotype and dominant female sterility from the deletion of mRpL24.
The presence of P+PBac{XP5.WH5}BSC159 was verified using the PCR methods and primers described in Parks et al., Nature Genetics 36: 288-292, 2004 (FBrf0175003).
The cytological breakpoints of Df(2L)BSC159 predicted from the Release 4 genomic coordinates of the transposable element insertion sites are 34B4;34C4.
