[2B3-2B3];[2B9-2B9];
A set of ~800 largely isogenic deficiency stocks created by FLP-induced recombination between FRT-carrying transgenic insertions; molecularly defined deletion endpoints correspond to initial location of the progenitor insertions. Designed to fill gaps in deletion coverage and breakpoint placement; also used to replace older available deficiencies that have not been molecularly mapped.
2B3;2B9
Breakpoint from FlyBase's release 5 sequence location of progenitor insertion.
1 month old, but not 1 day old, Df(1)BSC589/+, Df(3L)BSC579/+ flies perform poorly in a climbing assay.
Df(1)BSC589/+, Df(3L)BSC579/+ flies restore an upright position instantly after mechanical stress, but then cease moving rather than climbing.
The presence of P+PBac{XP5.WH5}BSC589 was verified using the PCR methods and primers described in FBrf0175003.
The cytological breakpoints of Df(1)BSC589 predicted from the Release 5 genomic coordinates of the P{XP}d10457 and PBac{WH}f05775 transposable element insertions sites are 2B3;2B9.
