Comments
The "k08901" line is deleted for the Lhr gene, demonstrating that this line contains a deletion.
The breakpoints of Df(2R)k08901 may correspond to the two insertion sites reported in the flanking sequences (AQ034114 and AQ025874) for the "k08901" insertion line. The uncertainty is because it is not clear how many insertions are present in this line and whether there is an error in the reported site of P-element insertion in one of the flanking sequences.

FlyBase curator comment: The "k08901" insertion line contains a deletion (Df(2R)k08901) (see FBrf0217415). It is not clear how many insertions are present in this line: although the 5' (AQ034114) and 3' (AQ025874) flanking sequences map 30kb apart, consistent with the presence of the deletion, the reported location of the P-element insertion site in the two flanking sequences appear to be incompatible if only one insertion is present. It is possible that there is one insertion in the line and that there is an error in the reported sequence data, or there may be two insertions in the line. Until more information is known, a separate insertion record exists in FlyBase for each flanking sequence: P{lacW}k08901b (FBti0025322) corresponds to the flanking sequence reported in AQ034114, P{lacW}l(2)k01209[k08901a] (FBti0006619) corresponds to the flanking sequence reported in AQ025874.
