Imprecise excision of P{lacW}E(spl)mγ-HLHK33 results in a 41 kb deletion removing a large part of the Enhancer of split complex, affecting the genes between E(spl)m8-HLH and E(spl)mγ-HLH.

    In combination with other aberrations

    Df(3R)R75 over Df(3R)Espl-P11 is viable as long as the carries the Df(3R)Espl-P11 allele. However, fecundity is reduced and some embryos die with a weak neurogenic phenotype, similar to the one observed in the reciprocal cross. Adult flies display display abnormal bristle numbers. Supernumerary sternopleurals are also present and infrequently also scutellars or postverticals. In addition, interommatidial bristles int he eye are frequently duplicated and sometimes ectopic veinlets or distal wing vein thickening is observed.
