Crossveins absent or traces only present. Veins L3 and L4 slightly δ at tips. Classifiable in unexpanded wings. RK1.

Wing effects due to excessive contraction in the pupal period, obliterating the cavity which should normally remain between the epithelia to form the vein.
cv1 mutants exhibit an absence of crossveins and a delta at the tips of the L3 and L4 veins. The longitudinal veins in cv1 mutants show poorly defined edges and trajectories often broadening and meandering along their length in a manner similar to that seen in sog mutant wing tissue.
Both the anterior and posterior crossveins are missing in the wings of cv1 flies.

      Comments
cv1 hemizygotes can be rescued by the expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 along the anterior-posterior border, rescues both the anterior crossvein and the posterior crossvein in cv mutants.
