dor8 larval nephrocytes exhibit decreased density of slit diaphragms in the cortical region and abnormal internal accumulation of slit diaphragms, compared to controls.

Homozygous mushroom body gamma neuron clones show normal axon pruning.

dor8 clones exhibit an endosome clustering phenotype.

Homozygous clones in the eye lack almost all pigmentation.

Late larval lethal.

Homozygous clones in the eye lack pigmentation. Only minor defects are seen in the composition of the ommatidia. The majority of rhabdomeres are normal. Giant multivesicular bodies (MVBs) with diameters up to 3μm are seen in mutant pigment cells. Many of the internal vesicles in these structures appear coated (this is not seen in wild-type rhabdomeres). Smaller MVBs are seen in mutant photoreceptor cells (these are not seen in wild-type cells).

Homozygous larvae die 90-100 hours after hatching. Heterozygotes with Df(1)RA19 die in the middle of the third instar.

Malpighian tubule colour: nearly colourless except at base.

A gut abnormality appears at 65 hr that results in obliteration of gut lumen and loss of all food material.

Melanotic tumors develop.

RK2. Male larvae die 90-100 hr after hatching. dor8/dor1 has orange eyes like dor1/dor1, as well as the sterility effects (Clancy; Redfeld and Schultz).
