Description

Insertion of a gypsy element at nucleotide 15821 in the same orientation as the f gene.

gypsy insertion in second intron of gene, in same orientation as f gene. The insertion is 150bp downstream of that in f1, and in the same orientation. The gypsy element has a 29bp deletion in the 5' transcribed but untranslated region that interacts with the su(Hw) gene product. This deletion eliminates part of the 4th and 5th of the 12 octamer repeats (proposed to interact with the su(Hw) product) and the A/T rich region spanning them.
