Detailed Description
| |||
Statement Reference jvl[1] homozygotes, jvl[1] hemizygotes and jvl[1]/jvl[f00590] trans-heterozygotes show defective bristle tip morphology.
jvl[1] animals are fertile, but jvl[1] hemizygotes and jvl[1]/jvl[f00590] trans-heterozygotes are sterile and lay ventralized eggs.
Actin and microtubule organization is disrupted in jvl[1] hemizygous egg chambers. Longitudinal actin bundles in the bristle cells of jvl1 mutants are larger than in wild type and extend deeply into the cytoplasm. The filaments are packed hexagonally, like in wild type. Resembles jv1 but bristles sometimes more crooked. Viability and productivity somewhat lower than normal. RK2. | |||

| Comments | Expression of jvl[RA.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Avic\GFP] using Scer\GAL4[nos.PG] rescues the female sterility of jvl[1]/Df(3R)Exel6275 and jvl[1]/jvl[f00590] flies. | ||
