Heterozygotes show a direct effect on the shape of the wing, having an effect in the anterior region, but no effect in the posterior region.
spis3547 embryos have severe defects in migration of the ganglionic branch trachea during stage 16, with many branches crossing the midline. The ventral nerve cord is also defective in these embryos, with longitudinal fascicles collapsed onto the midline.
Homozygous embryos exhibit deletion of median parts of all denticle belts.
