Description

A 24 bp deletion and a single base pair insertion, inducing an in-frame 24bp deletion that removes amino acids 36-43, and a 1 bp frameshift leading to premature termination of the Alg3 protein after 192 amino acids.

Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

The generation of fully homozygous Alg3tid2 eye discs in an otherwise heterozygous larva leads to disorganized eye discs (milder defects than those in Alg3tid1/Alg3tid2 transheterozygotes) and induces pupal lethality.

Alg3tid2 homozygous clones within mosaic eye discs are smaller and formed by less cells than control clones, indicating that they are outcompeted.

Shows autonomously growing imaginal disc tumors and lethality during the larval to pupal transition.
