Homozygous follicle cells clones result in border follicle cell migration defects. In large homozygous clones in the follicle epithelium, multinucleate cells are seen. Mutant outer follicle cell clones do not show TUNEL labeling, even 10 days after clone induction.

The P{lacW}thj5C8 insertion is in the same position as the P{EP}thEP3308 insertion.
Transposase induced excision of the P{lacW} is accompanied by reversion of the mutant phenotype.
Complements: Mbsj3B4. Complements: Mbsj7A1.
