hide Detailed Description
Statement
Reference
Eyes of flies transheterozygous for pan13/panER1 and raised at non-permissive temperature show normal polarity although some ommatidia contain extra photoreceptors.
Homozygotes show a segment polarity phenotype in which the larval epidermis forms a lawn of ventral denticles and lacks naked cuticle between the segmental denticle belts. Individual denticles retain their correct polarity. The lawn of denticles phenotype is not suppressed when armΔ.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 is expressed using Scer\GAL4hs.PB, indicating that pan acts downstream of arm.
