Heterozygotes show loss of both anterior and posterior wing margin.

Ectopic cell death is not seen in the wing discs of heterozygous animals.

sensLy-1 in combination with a "sens" allele of sens results in either no loss of PNS neurons in embryos or a very subtle loss. sensSX67 interacts additively with sensLy-1 to produce a more severe wing margin loss.

Wing anterior and posterior margins are missing.

Lateral margins of wings excised, giving narrowed shape; angle between veins L2 and L5 reduced. Bristles shortened and stubby; postscutellars frequently missing. Eyes somewhat deformed with tufted vibrissae. Abdomen dark and narrow with rear edge of tergites raised. Homozygous lethal. sens/Df(3L)M69E is lethal. Modification of wings first visible as marginal scalloping of prepupal wing buds; wing fold narrower (Waddington, 1939; Waddington, 1940). RK1A.
