Embryonic CNS exhibits very severe disturbances and larval exhibit a broad range of cuticle loss.
Weak neurogenic phenotype. There are large holes in the ventral cuticle of the larva, and those denticle belts that are present are disorganised. Parts of the head epidermis are missing.
Weak embryonic neurogenic phenotype. Main defects are in the cephalic region up to the prothoracic segment, head cuticle being reduced to some derivatives of the clypeolabrum, labium, hypopharynx and maxilla. Dorsal cuticle is normal.
