Me3 phenotype weaker than Me1 and unscoreable in cn. Me3 lethal over Me1.
The Me65d/Me1 combination is lethal.
Eye has watered-silk, shimmering, iridescent pattern owing to a ring of six flecks around normal fleck. Eye color brownish and translucent; 79% normal red pigment and 85% normal brown pigment (Nolte, 1955). Larval Malpighian tubes considerably lighter in color than normal but mutant classifiable with difficulty (Brehme and Demerec, 1942). Contains a modifier of dominance of dp such that dp/+; Me/+ has truncated wings. Classifiable in single dose in triploids (Schultz, 1934). Homozygous lethal. Me/In(3L)P is viable. RK1A.
