Level of Drs induction of bacterially challenged pll2/pll21 and pll2/pll10 mutants is lower than in wild type. Pattern of response of CecA1 and CecA2 parallels that of Drs. Dpt and Dro remain fully inducible and pattern of expression of AttA and Def in intermediate. Infection of pll2/pll21 mutants with A.fumigatus causes 4% survival 3 days postinfection, infection with E.coli causes 87% survival 3 days postinfection.
Injection of the pll::tort4021p construct into pll10/pll2 and pll10/Df(3R)D605 heterozygotes causes the induction of dorsoventral pattern elements, the tor::tubt4021t construct cannot induce dorsoventral pattern elements.
Injected dl- perivitelline fluid had no effect on embryos.
