      Auxotrophic mutant involved in purine metabolism.

      (Zhimulev et al., 1987)

      The growth response to adenosine is equal to the response to guanosine. At 25oC hemizygotes exhibit purine nucleoside auxotrophy, at 29oC they have extremely low viability. Small concavity of the wing margin at the distal end of the 4th longitudinal vein.

      development of pur12 not delayed when supplemented with adenosine; guanosine supports normal development.
