No visible eye defects are seen in heterozygous stg6 mutant flies.
In those embryos that are incubated at the restrictive temperature of 29oC before the division of the ganglion mother cell into RP2/sib, the ganglion mother cell assumes an RP2 identity. In the aCC/pCC lineage, the ganglion mother cell assumes an aCC identity. A 30 minute delay into G2 entry is also found in these embryos.
Cells in homozygous clones induced in the wing pouch of the wing disc divide slowly when maintained at a semi-permissive temperature and become enlarged. These cells are gradually lost from the disc epithelium.
Embryos derived from germ line clones proceed through cycles 1-13 normally.
Postblastoderm cell divisions do take place in homozygous embryos, but at a lower frequency than in wild-type. The length of the cell cycle, in particular the length of the mitotic phase is increased.
Mutants show a nonspecific reduction in the number of differentiated cuticular structures.

stg6/stg[+] is an enhancer of visible | adult stage | heat sensitive phenotype of Hsap\YWHAGhs.cHa
Hsap\YWHAGhs.cHa, stg6/stg[+] has eye | heat sensitive phenotype
Heterozygous stg6 induces a rough eye phenotype when flies expressing Hsap\YWHAGhs.cHa are heat-shocked at 37[o]C for 30 minutes every 7.5 hours from the third instar stage. 8.96% of flies have a rough eye compared to only 1.61% in the absence of stg6 and 1.39% in wild type controls. No eye defects are seen in heterozygous stg6.
