Detailed Description
| |||
Statement Reference Levels of β-alanine transaminase activity are reduced compared to wild-type in newly emerged adults up to five hours postemergence. Levels of β-alanine transaminase activity are higher in su(b)6 ; b1 double mutant flies than in su(b)6 single mutant flies. Levels of β-alanine transaminase activity in su(b)6; b1 double mutant flies are lower than wild-type levels. Sensitive to beta-alanine; there is almost 100% lethality at a concentration of 0.2M, with very few first instar larvae, and large numbers of unhatched eggs, suggesting that lethality occurs early in development, and may have a maternal component. Unhatched eggs do not melanise. | |||
