Detailed Description

Reference
One copy of Su(var)2-1201 strongly suppresses position effect variegation (PEV) at the w locus caused by In(1)wm4. One copy of Su(var)2-1201 is unable to suppress the telomeric position effect (TPE) in stocks carrying a variegating P{hsp26-pt-T}39C-5 insertion at the telomere of the left arm of chromosome two.
Suppresses the position effect variegation at the w locus caused by In(1)wm4 and suppresses the position effect variegation at the bw locus caused by Byron. Also suppresses the position effect variegation of w seen in the P{wAR}41A insertion.
Moderate enhancer of variegation at the lt locus.
Dominant suppressor of position effect variegation at the w locus caused by In(1)wm4.
homozygous lethal
