Doc element inserted into w promoter region.
Insertion of 4.9kb Doc element, close to the site of transcription initiation. 13bp of w sequence from +3700 to +3688 is duplicated, and is present at both ends of the Doc insertion (nucleotide positions as in FBrf0041384). The Doc element is inserted in the same orientation as the direction of w transcription.
5kb Doc insert at +3.71; Origin = insertion of wa copia; '-' values to left (telomere) end; '+' values to right (centromere) end.

Mutant males display negligible intermale courtship upon recurring ethanol administration with 70% ethanol, in contrast to wild-type males which show intermale courtship after repeated ethanol exposure.
Homozygotes have white eyes with only <1% red pigment (compared to 100% pigment in wild type).
Bleach white eyes.
Eye colour: white. Ocellus colour: colourless. Testis colour: colourless. Malpighian tubule colour: colourless.
Eye colour: bleach white.
Eye colour: The wcf2 eye colour is not diluted when wcf2 is in transheterozygous combination with w1.

Flies with a w1/we(g) mutant genotype enhance the eye colour defective phenotype of g2, g50e and g53d homozygous mutants leading to a greater reduction of red pigment in the eye.
