Predominantly mutant Vha55^j2E9 eye discs (generated using Scer\FLP1^ey.PN) are small in size compared to wild type and have aberrant morphology.

Vha55^j2E9 eye disc cells show an increased number of multivesicular bodies (MVBs) compared to wild type. These MVBs are enlarged and contain a high number of luminal vesicles.

A portion of the cells in Vha55^j2E9 mosaic clones are eliminated from the disc, especially when surrounded by wild type cells.

Vha55^j2E9 mosaic eye disc clones underproliferate compared to controls.

Mutants have clear Malpighian tubules (when examined by birefringence).

Eye disc clones expressing N^{ECN.Scer\UAS.cGa} under the control of Scer\GAL4^Act5C.PP in a Vha55^j2E9 mutant background do not proliferate as in a wild-type background and instead create only small clones, of a similar size to Vha55^j2E9 mutant clones.

A Vha55^j2E9 mutant clone background does not suppress the overproliferation phenotype seen when N^{intra.GS.Scer\UAS} is expressed in eye disc clones under the control of Scer\GAL4^Act5C.PP.

Clones in the eye discs of Vha55^j2E9 lsn^ZZ13 double mutants display the underproliferation phenotype seen in Vha55^j2E9 mutant clones.
