Expression of SPg.Yp1.hs reduces the receptivity and increases oviposition in virgin females.

Females bearing Acp70Ag.Yp1.hs exhibit a constitutively increased feeding rate that is not further elevated by mating.

In Acp70Ag.Yp1.hs virgin females a prolonged stimulation of oviposition corresponding to about 70% of the full wild-type male induced response is seen.

Females with and without eggs extrude their ovipositor towards courting males, this rejection behaviour is ineffective at suppressing wild type male courtship. Half of females with eggs can suppress male courtship and females without eggs fail to. dncM11 and parasbl-1 males show increased courtship with Acp70Ag.Yp1.hs females than wild type males.

Constitutive expression of Acp70A under the control of the Yp1 enhancer produced constitutive rejection behaviour in the presence of courting males and enhanced ovulation.
