Heterozygous Ras85De1B flies exhibit normal life spans.
Ras85De1B/+ flies show a wild-type number of rhabdomeres in their eyes.
100% of the eggs laid by Ras85D05703/Ras85De1B mothers have a single central dorsal appendage. This single appendage has a lumen, and the cell rearrangements occuring duing its development resemble those occuring during the morphogenesis of each of wild-type appendage despite some of the cells involved being mis-shapen.
Somatic clones of Ras85De1B in the wing disc peripodial membrane have reduced viability compared to wild-type twin spot cells.
Heterozygotes have almost wild-type bracts in the tibia (100%) and in the basitarsus (96%) of the second leg.
Heterozygous loss of Ras85D has no effect on size of Nf1 mutant pupae.
No effect on the faf eye phenotype.
Ras85DΔC17b/Ras85De1B and Df(3R)ΔC40b/Ras85De1B transheterozygotes are lethal. Ras85De1B/Ras85D05703 transheterozygotes are semi-lethal. Females transheterozygotes with Ras85D05703 lay eggs with a single dorsal appendage, 84% of eggs hatch and develop to normal larvae. Transheterozygotes with Ras85D05703 exhibit extremely rough eyes (many fused and misplaced ommatidia).
Reduces the ability of a cell to develop as an R7 cell or as any other photoreceptor.

Ras85De1B/+ rescues the lifespan defect of Uba1B1/+ mutants, and partially rescues the lifespan defect of Uba1B1/Uba1B1 mutants.
Ras85De1B suppresses the increased size of Apc2g10 ApcQ8 mutant intestinal stem cell clones 7 and 14 days after clone induction (ACI). The multilayering phenotype often seen at 21 days ACI is also suppressed. This reduction in cell number is due to reduced proliferation, rather than increased cell death: TUNEL expression is unchanged and expression of the apoptotic protein BacA\p35 has no effect on the phenotype. The remaining increase in clone size seen in the Ras85De1B, Apc2g10, ApcQ8 triple mutant flies is fully suppressed upon expression of panΔN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU, and no increase in apoptosis is seen in these flies.
The extra wing vein phenotype caused by expression of CG4096KK108644 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU is significantly suppressed if the flies also carry Ras85De1B.
Ras85De1B flies which are also expressing Bap170C1.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev have rough eyes and lack all R7 photoreceptor cells.
Ras85De1B dominantly suppresses the extra wing veins caused by constitutive expression of Rabex-5VDRC.cUa via Scer\GAL4Act.PU. Ras85De1B dominantly suppresses the extra wing veins caused by wing-specific expression of Rabex-5VDRC.cUa via Scer\GAL4C-765. A Ras85De1B/+ genetic background results in fewer flies with severe eye phenotypes upon co-expression of Rabex-5VDRC.cUa and Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa driven by Scer\GAL4ey.PU. Ras85De1B dominantly suppresses the increased body size, body length and wing area resulting from the expression of Rabex-5VDRC.cUa driven by Scer\GAL4Act.PU. The presence of a Ras85De1B background significantly suppresses ectopic wing vein formation found in cswY279C.Scer\UAS (Scer\GAL4tub) mutants. A Ras85De1B background suppresses the cswY279C.Scer\UAS (Scer\GAL4tub) rough eye phenotype, normalizing the numbers of R7 and ommatidial rotation.
The cell-autonomous overgrowth phenotype found in Uba1B2 homozygous and Uba1B1/Uba1B2 trans-heterozygous eye discs is suppressed in a Ras85De1B heterozygous background. A Ras85De1B/+ background dramatically suppresses the lethality found in Uba1B1/Uba1B2 homozygotes. A Ras85De1B/+ background dramatically suppresses the non-autonomous overgrowth phenotype found in Uba1A1 mosaic eye clones.
Expression of S6kIIK231R.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC, under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev, causes a more severe loss of photoreceptor cells when expressed in a Ras85De1B/+ background. Expression of S6kIIScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC, under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, causes a more severe roughened-eye phenotype and a greater loss of rhabdomeres when expressed in a rl10a/+ background than when expressed in a wild-type background.
The ectopic wing vein phenotype caused by expression of Socs44AScer\UAS.cRa under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E is suppressed by Ras85De1B/+.
Ras85De1B/+, S05671/+ double mutants have a stronger missing-bract phenotype than either mutant alone. (2% of bracts in the tibia and 60% in the basitarsus of the second leg remain). The addition of Ras85Dhs.M11.2 under heat shock control partially suppresses this phenotype.
Ras85De1B/+ significantly restores the organisation of cysts and membrane deposition in the testes of homozygous Df(3R)rn20 males. These animals show reduced eclosion and have a short life span. Ras85De1B/+ in a Df(3R)rn20 homozygous background results in a significant increase in the number of pigment cells and closer packing than seen in a Df(3R)rn20 single mutant background. The ommatidia remain strangely shaped and have variable numbers of outer and inner photoreceptor cells. There is a drastic reduction in the depth of the retina.

The enhancement of the pbhs.PB antenna to maxillary transformation phenotype caused by Gap1sxt-BJ61 is reduced if the flies also carry one copy of Ras85De1B. The enhancement of the Gap1sxt-BJ61 ectopic wing vein phenotype caused by pbhs.PB is reduced if the flies also carry one copy of Ras85De1B. The enhancement of the Df(3R)Ubx109/+ phenotype by Gap1sxt-BJ61 is partially reversed if the flies also carry Ras85De1B.
Mutation has no effect on the rough eye phenotype caused by two insertions of P{GMR-Rho1}.
Enhances the sevB4 phenotype: disrupts sevB4 protein signalling.
