dxP mutant larvae have normal wild-type numbers of crystal cells.

Homozygous females have an excess of microchaetae, having 143.00 +/- 1.92 thoracic microchaetae per heminotum (compared to the wild-type number of 130.35 +/- 1.54).

Viable. Extra wing vein material at tips. Weak rough eye phenotype: irregular ommatidia, bristles are duplicated or missing. No visual abnormality.

The mutant wing, eye and ocelli phenotypes are dominantly suppressed by Su(dx)1, Su(dx)2 and Su(dx)sp.
