Df(3R)su(Hw)-A1933/su(Hw)V transheterozygotes are lethal.

P{SUPor-P} induced double strand breakage repair is increased about twofold in a su(Hw)V/su(Hw)7 background compared to wild-type.

su(Hw)V/+ completely suppresses the inhibitory effect of mod(mdg4)ul on the expression of y in bristles. A decrease in concentration of su(Hw) product, as in su(Hw)V/+, does not suppress the negative effect of mod(mdg4)ul on transvection.

Homozygous females are sterile. Fertility is restored if the female also carries su(Hw)wt, su(Hw)Δ2-203, su(Hw)Δ656-705, su(Hw)Δ706-736 or su(Hw)Δ881-944, but is not restored if the female also carries su(Hw)Δ673-943, su(Hw)Δ2-203.673-943, su(Hw)Δ738-780, su(Hw)Δ782-944 or su(Hw)Δ853-880.

Egg chambers are irregularly shaped and spaced on the ovarioles, show a reduction of yolk deposition in the oocyte and degenerate before completion of oogenesis. Nurse cells shrink from each other leaving gaps in the anterior portions of the egg chambers.
