Flies expressing phl::tor13D.hs.sev have extra photoreceptor R7 cells, which result in a rough eye phenotype.

The phl::tor13D.hs.sev phenotype is unaffected by halving the dose of sty+.

Flies carrying one copy of phl::tor13D.hs.sev have rough eyes.

ttk mutations have no significant effect on the rough eye phenotype.

The rough eye phenotype caused by phl::tor13D.hs.sev is robustly enhanced by ksr::torΔNksr.hs.sev.

The rough eye phenotype of phl::tor13D.hs.sev is enhanced by Src42A18-2, Src42A7-4, Df(2R)nap8, Df(2R)nap9 or In(2R)bwVDe2LCyR. The rough eye phenotype of phl::tor13D.hs.sev is not enhanced by Src42A1.15 or Src42A9-4. Lethality at the pupal stage is seen in Src42ASu(phl)1-1 phl::tor13D.hs.sev double heterozygotes.

When injected into the posterior of phl11 null embryos, phl::tor13D.hs.sev is highly efficient at rescuing posterior cuticular structures including A8 and the filzkorper. phl::tor13D.hs.sev is much less effective in rescuing Ras85DΔC40B null mutants though some rescue is seen at high concentrations of phl::tor13D.hs.sev. When injected into torrv66 at several concentrations generally around 5% of embryos were rescued.

Expression of phl::tor13D.hs.sev in btlLG19 or stumps09904b mutant embryos partially rescues tracheal morphogenesis.

The phl::tor13D.hs.sev eye phenotype is dominantly suppressed by 14-3-3εS-696.

Extra R7-cell phenotype is suppressed by cswG547E.hs.2sev.

Eye phenotype is weakly suppressed by mtsXE-2258.

Eye phenotype is unaffected by mutations in βggt-I or ksr. Embryos derived from germline clones of ksrS-638 reveal severe terminal defects which can be partially rescued by the injection of mRNA generated from phl::tor13D.hs.sev.
