Amino acid substitution: in the seventh zinc finger motif of the su(Hw) protein.
The second Arg residue between the two His residues of zinc finger 7 is changed to His.
Mutant zinc finger.
Point mutation in one of the zinc fingers.
Nucleotide substitution: G2116A. Amino acid replacement: R?H. Mutation occurs at the base of the seventh zinc finger.

Mild mutation. Combination with mod(mdg4)ul leads to a complete suppression of the mutant y- phenotype. su(Hw)e2/+ in combination with mod(mdg4)ul is phenotypically similar to strong alleles such as su(Hw)V. Partially suppresses the scD1 mutant phenotype. Suppression is enhanced by mod(mdg4)ul.
Weak suppression of the y2 phenotype.

Ubx[bx-34e], su(Hw)[e2] animals display a bithorax phenotype.
ctL32, su(Hw)e2 double mutants display approximately 0.01 wing margin nicks per fly.
ct6; su(Hw)e2 flies have a scalloped cut wing phenotype.
Complete suppression of Ubxbx-34e bithorax phenotype at 29oC when in combination with su(Hw)7. Heteroallelic combinations with su(Hw)2 and su(Hw)7 completely suppress the ct6 wing phenotype at 29oC.
