Homozygotes have ectopic vein tissue in the wing.

In a sev6/Y, SosJC2/+ background, the percentage of ommatidia with R7 cells rises in heterozygotes from the 16% of sev6/Y, SosJC2/+ to 49%.

Homozygotes have a rough eye appearance. Every ommatidium contains multiple (from 2 to 6) centrally projecting rhabdomeres that are morphologically similar to R7 rhabdomeres. Rhabdomeres of R1 to R6 are displaced, failing to extend the entire length of the ommatidium. In ommatidia of double mutants with ninaE17 the extra receptor cells do not degenerate, this implies the extra cells have an R7 or R8 identity. R7 specific gene expression determines the extra cells are receptor R7 cells. Ommatidia of double mutants with sev6 or boss1 display extra R7 cells.

The increased survival on medium containing 1% H2O2 of flies expressing IP3K1UY530 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 is not altered if the flies are homozygous for Gap1sxt-BJ61.

The ectopic vein phenotype of Gap1sxt-BJ61 homozygotes is enhanced by a copy of pbhs.PB. This enhancement is reduced if the flies also carry one copy of Ras85De1B. One copy of Gap1sxt-BJ61 has only a weak effect on the pbhs.PB phenotype, but two copies of Gap1sxt-BJ61 significantly enhance the antenna to maxillary transformation seen in pbhs.PB flies. This enhancement is reduced if the flies also carry one copy of Ras85De1B. Alters the labial transformation phenotype of pb4 homozygotes towards wild-type. Enchances the scd1/Y and Df(3R)Ubx109/+ phenotypes. The enhancement of the Df(3R)Ubx109/+ phenotype by Gap1sxt-BJ61 is partially reversed if the flies also carry Ras85De1B.
