Homozygous clones in the eye do not produce extra photoreceptor cells. Src42ASu(phl)1-1/Df(2R)nap9 animals show defects in head involution, tail morphology and tracheal necrosis.
Heterozygotes are viable with no obvious phenotype.

Suppresses the lethality of phl1. Lethality at the pupal stage is seen in Src42ASu(phl)1-1 Ras85DV12.sev or Src42ASu(phl)1-1 phl::tor13D.hs.sev double heterozygotes. The rough eye phenotype of hemizygous phl1 pharate adult males is also suppressed by Src42ASu(phl)1-1. Dominantly suppresses the rough eye phenotype of Dsor1XS520 and Sosx122/SosAM14.
Suppresses the phl1 phenotype; phl1/Y flies die, whereas phl1/Y ; Src42ASu(phl)1-1/+ flies are viable and fertile. phl1/Y pharate adults have rough eyes and the R7 cell is missing in 88% of ommatidia. Rescued phl1/Y ; Src42ASu(phl)1-1/+ flies have rough eyes and the R7 cell is missing in 36% of ommatidia. One copy is able to rescue the lethality of phl1, phl12 and Dsor1LH110 homozygotes, partially rescue the eye defect of phl1 male hemizygotes and allow phl1 homozygous females to produce few eggs with variable phenotype, fused or normal dorsal appendages.
