Statement
Reference
aop[ACT.sev] mutants exhibit a rough eye phenotype.
Flies carrying aopACT.sev have a rough eye phenotype.
Mutants show reduced number of R7 photoreceptors.
Flies have rough eyes characterized by the loss of the R3, R4 and R7 photoreceptor neurons and the nonneuronal cone cells.
Eyes are slightly smaller than wild type with a rough appearance, photoreceptors R3, R4 and R7 fail to develop. Also an increase in cell death in eye tissue.

A Cbl[K26] heterozygous background rescues the rough eye phenotype found in aop[ACT.sev] mutants.
The rough eye phenotype caused by aopACT.sev is enhanced if the flies also carry edlk06602/+. The rough eye phenotype caused by aopACT.sev is enhanced by expression of edlScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev.
