Insertion of P{BmΔ-w} within an intron.
The lifespan of homozygous flies is reduced after eclosion compared to wild-type flies.
Lethality occurs during larval, pupal and early adult stages. Adults have a rough eye phenotype, ommatidia contain an excess number of rhabdomeres that may have an abnormal shape. Ommatidia of double mutants with sev1 contain a variable number of R7-like cells.
aoppok-1 has short lived phenotype, suppressible by Raf[+]/Raf1
aoppok-1/aop[+] is a suppressor | partially of short lived phenotype of Raf1
aoppok-1/aop[+] is a suppressor of photoreceptor cell R7 phenotype of Raf1
The longevity of aoppok-1 homozygotes is prolonged in a phl1 heterozygous background, although the longevity of phl1 hemizygotes is not affected by the presence of aoppok-1. Photoreceptor cell R7 is rescued in phl1 hemizygotes that are also heterozygous for aoppok-1. Does not alter the sina3 phenotype (lack of R7 photoreceptor cells) in double mutant flies. Homozygosity for ttkbose1 or heterozygosity for ttkbose45 reduces the size of the compound eye in the aoppok-1 homozygous background.
