Expression of esg[Scer\UAS.cFa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[Act.PU] the eyFLP technique does not result in an altered targeting pattern of CO[[2]] neurons.
Expression of esg[Scer\UAS.cFa] under the control of Scer\GAL4[btl.PS] (by inactivating Scer\GAL80[ts.alphaTub84B] through heat-shock), results in a multi-tip air sac phenotype.
Expression of esgScer\UAS.cFa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 results in a roughening of the eye and a reduction in the number of interommatidial bristles. Expression of esgScer\UAS.cFa under the control of Scer\GAL4455.2 results in a complete loss of shaft and socket of the macrochaetae of the scutellum.
Clones in the leg expressing esgScer\UAS.cFa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI invaginate to form a vesicle inside the leg cuticle in a cell-autonomous manner. These clones are often associated with malformation. Proximal to the clone, genetically wild-type bristles and epidermal hairs, which normally point distally, are often reversed. Clones expressing esgScer\UAS.cFa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI induced in the distal tarsal region of the leg disc during the second larval instar stage show compact morphology, are round in shape and have smooth borders. Clones expressing esgScer\UAS.cFa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI induced in the coxa and trochanter regions of the leg disc have ragged borders.
Scer\GAL4C38 or Scer\GAL4tracheal induced expression causes ectopic tracheal connections, linking up terminal branches that normally never join.
At 25oC most larvae die before second larval instar. Reduction in salivary gland and salivary gland nuclei size.

The bang sensitivity of bss1/+ flies is partially suppressed by the expression of esgScer\UAS.cFa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu.
Expression of aseScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4455.2 results in extra macrochaetae. This phenotype is strongly suppressed by co-expression of esgScer\UAS.cFa.
