Drives expression in the distal-most part of the wing disc; in a lateral stripe in the outer optic anlage and in the lamina furrow in the eye disc; in polar follicle cells during oogenesis and in hub cells during spermatogenesis; and in DN period neurons in the adult brain. Also can be used as a read-out for activation of the JAK/STAT pathway.
Scer\GAL4upd1-E132 drives expression in small-nucleated progenitors to enterocytes (e.g., intestinal stem cells and enteroblasts).
Scer\GAL4upd1-E132 drives expression in a widespread pattern in the adult brain, including the DN clock neurons and some lateral located neurons. Dendrites of both of these neuron clusters are located near the projections of the PDF positive sLNV clock neurons.
upd1-GAL4-expressing neurons comprise a subset of mushroom body alph/beta and gamma neurons. These neurons are organized into four distinct bundles, visible within the mushroom body peduncle. The four upd1 axon tracts initally enter the peduncle separately, but fuse into two final bundles at a more anterior level. upd1-expressing neurons represent a subset of alpha/beta and gamma neurons.
Scer\GAL4upd1-E132 drives expression in a stripe of cells along the most-lateral edge of the larval outer optic anlage and then becomes localized in the lamina furrow after the furrow forms around mid-third instar.
In second instar larva, expression throughout much of the ventral region of the eye-antennal disc, with staining expanding posteriorly to cover the entire dorsoventral extent of the eye disc. In third instar larva, expression in the antennal disc and in a small patch of cells at the posterior of the eye disc near the optic stalk.
