Expression of araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4nub.PU (restricted to 16 hours prior the third instar larval stage onwards using Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B) causes a significant reduction in the mitotic index in the wing disc.

When araScer\UAS.cGa is expressed in the prospective wing pouch under the control of Scer\GAL4MD-638 wings are absent and extra notum tissue develops.

The expression of araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG results in third instar larval class IV abdominal dorsal multidendritic ddaC neurons exhibiting a reduced dendritic tree, as compared to controls; expression under the control of Scer\GAL4221 results in no obvious dendrite morphology defects in class I abdominal dorsal multidendritic ddaD and ddaE neurons, as compared to controls.

Expression of araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.long leads to morphological defects in the eye.

Expression of araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4C-765 does not induce ectopic notum-like structures on the mesothoracic pleura.

Expression of araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in small eye phenotypes in nearly 33% of eye discs and adult eyes.

Some of these ventral clones are associated with cuticle vesicles. Clones expressing araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI in the dorsal part of the head do not interfere with head capsule development.

Expression of araScer\UAS.cGa when driven by Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4 causes the loss of the wing and formation of an extra notum.

Clones in the ventral region of the eye expressing araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI reorganise dorsoventral polarity and promoter formation of ectopic eye fields at a low frequency. Dorsally situated clones expressing araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI induce ectopic eyes at a low frequency.

When expression is driven by Scer\GAL4ap-md544 pharate individuals lack all dorsal hinge elements (axillary sclerites and tegula) and have reduced and distorted wings. No ectopic notum structures were observed.

When driven by Scer\GAL4C-765 or Scer\GAL4sca-C253 the posterior scutellar bristles and the some supraalar bristles are eliminated, ectopic macrochaetae are also seen.

The medial macrochaetae of the notum have wild-type contralateral axonal branches in flies expressing araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4. In contrast, the medial microchaetae of the notum lack all contralateral axonal branches in approximately 30% of these flies.

araScer\UAS.cGa, Scer\GAL471B individuals die as pupae, whereas araScer\UAS.cGa, Scer\GAL4C-765 individuals survive to adulthood. The wings of these flies are small, have thickened and fused veins and have few SOs at the anterior wing margin.

Ubiquitous expression of araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4unspecified abolishes photoreceptor differentiation, which is not restored either by overexpression of ushScer\UAS.cCa or if the flies also carry clones of pnrVX6.
