Expression of CycEScer\UAS.cLa suppresses the cell proliferation defects seen in the wing disc when araScer\UAS.cGa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4nub.PU (restricted to 16 hours prior the third instar larval stage onwards using Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B).
Expression of CycEScer\UAS.cLa suppresses the wing loss and formation of ectopic notum tissue seen when araScer\UAS.cGa is expressed in the prospective wing pouch under the control of Scer\GAL4MD-638.
Co-expression of both tupScer\UAS.cTa and araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 transforms the central part of the wing to notum-like tissue, whereas the anterior and posterior parts develop as wing tissue. The animals also show notum-like structures near the coxa, indicating transformation of the ventral region of the body wall towards notum.
Co-expression of tshScer\UAS.cGa and araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4bi-omb-Gal4 results in enlargement at both the dorsal and ventral margins of the eye disc and adult eye. Co-expression of tshScer\UAS.cGa and araScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI in clones in the eye disc does not affect eye fate.
In eygScer\UAS.cAa; Scer\GAL4MD-638; araScer\UAS.cGa flies, the wing is replaced by a notum duplication, and the scutellar regions of the normal and the duplicated notum are transformed towards scutum. i.e.- the phenotypes due to eyg and ara overexpression with this driver appear to be additive.
