pnrVX6/pnrMD237 transheterozygous adults displaying thoracic clefts and loss of dorsocentral mechanosensory macrochaetae compared to wild-type controls.

Homozygous pnrMD237 and trans-heterozygous pnrMD237/pnrVX6 mutants lack dorsocentral bristles.

Less than 1% of pnrMD237/+ flies show any loss of the dorsocentral bristles.

pnrMD237/pnrV1 flies show loss of dorsocentral and scutellar macrochaetae.

pnrMD237/pnrD1 mutants show abnormal muscle attachments. The dorsal medial muscle (DLM)s appear as a single fibre. The notum also shows defects, a notal cleft is seen along with extra dorsocentral bristles.

Heterozygous adults show a very slight dorsal thoracic cleft and disorganisation of bristles, sometimes missing a few inner and postvertical bristles.

pnrMD237 flies have a slight midline cleft phenotype.

pnrD1/pnrMD237 mutants there is an increase in number of the wg-dependent dorsocentral bristles.

Heterozygotes exhibit defects in the thoracic cleft and occasionally lack inner verticals and postverticals. Heterozygotes with Df(3R)sbd45 are semi-viable, lack bristles and occasionally show head defects.
