Expression of E(spl)mδ-HLHScer\UAS.cdCa in the somatic musculature, under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU causes a significant failure in SNa branching.

Expression of E(spl)mδ-HLHScer\UAS.cdCa in neurons, under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155, does not affect SNa branching.

Embryos expressing E(spl)mδ-HLHScer\UAS.cdCa in the somatic musculature, under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU show higher rates of muscle pattern failure, demonstrating a disordered muscle phenotype in 58% of hemisegments.

No extra neuroblasts are seen when E(spl)mδ-HLHScer\UAS.cdCa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4wor.PA or Scer\GAL4elav.PU.

In 14% of ommatidia expressing Scer\GAL4hs.2sev driven HLHmδScer\UAS.cdCa, some of the R1/6 precursors develop as R7-like cells.

Flies expressing HLHmδScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 have missing scutellar bristles.

Expression of HLHmδScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 inhibits the formation of both macro- and micro-chaetae, resulting in a bald stripe in the centre of the adult thorax.

When HLHmδScer\UAS.cdCa is driven by Scer\GAL4sca-109-68 R8 photoreceptor cells are sometimes missing. Adult eyes are small and rough.

Flies expressing HLHmδScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 show loss of notum microchaetae and macrochaetae, except for a few central microchaetae and at the very anterior edge of the notum. Flies expressing HLHmδScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of Scer\GAL4455.2 show severe loss of scutellar bristles. Flies expressing HLHmδScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of Scer\GAL4h-1J3 show loss of notum macrochaetae.

Flies expressing two copies of HLHmδScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of two copies of Scer\GAL4h-H10 have much smaller eyes than normal which contain a few facets. Eye imaginal discs contain few ommatidia. These animals survive to pharate adulthood, occasionally producing adult escapers. Flies expressing one copy of HLHmβScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of one copy of Scer\GAL4h-H10 have a mild rough eye phenotype.

Co-expression of HLHmδScer\UAS.cdCa partially suppresses the ectopic chaetae phenotype caused by expression of scScer\UAS.cPa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237.

HLHmδScer\UAS.cdCa expressed under the control of Scer\GAL432B restores the distal wing margin and adjacent wing blade tissue that is missing in Df(1)N-54l9 heterozygotes. Expression of HLHmδScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of Scer\GAL432B enhances the scalloped wing phenotype seen in hemizygous Nl1N-ts1 flies shifted to the non-permissive temperature at the early third larval instar stage (72-84 hours after egg laying).
